7-day inpatient service at Cabrini Hospital Malvern

A procedure where the doctor places a thin flexible tube with a camera on the tip (endoscope) through the mouth to examine the upper digestive tract, including the oesophagus, stomach and duodenum (upper small bowel)

A procedure where the doctor places a flexible tube with a camera on the tip (colonoscope) through the rectum to examine the colon (large bowel).

A procedure where the doctor places an echoendoscope, which is a flexible tube with a camera and ultrasound probe through the mouth to obtain images through the wall of the digestive tract and surrounding organs, such as the liver, bile duct and pancreas.

A procedure where the doctor places an endoscope through the mouth, to the upper small bowel (duodenum) to examine the biliary ducts or pancreatic ducts. ERCP is performed to remove stones, open narrowings (strictures) or take samples.

A specialised colonoscopy procedure that is used to safely remove large colorectal polyps.
